About the RG2 MK5

The Symphonic Line RG2 MK5 is a German-built stereo analogue preamplifier with a switchable MM/MC phono stage. It combines line-level inputs for CD, tuner, AUX and tape with tape-monitor and power-amplifier outputs. The phono section supports cartridge capacitance and impedance matching via plug-in settings. Construction features include a shielded power supply, mains filter, mu-metal-shielded 300 VA transformer, dual-wave rectification, a substantial engraved 10 mm front panel, solid-metal controls and remote volume control. A headphone socket is also reported in later manufacturer literature. Optional versions include a pair of balanced XLR inputs, a Reference external power-supply module and the Reference Edition HD with an internal turbo supply and 280,000 µF capacitance.
