About the SugarCube SC-1
The SweetVinyl SugarCube SC-1 is a line-level device that sits between your phono stage and preamp or integrated amplifier line input. It digitizes the analog signal with a high-resolution 192kHz/24-bit ADC, applies advanced DSP algorithms to remove clicks and pops from vinyl playback in real time, and converts the signal back to analog via a high-quality DAC. The unit features adjustable 'Repair' strength from 1 to 10, with a recommended setting around 5 or 6 for general use. It includes a bypass mode to compare processed and unprocessed sound. Internally, it uses a 64-bit Intel Atom x5 Z8350 single board computer with an XMOS interface, an AK5572 ADC from Asahi Kasei, and an ESS ES9018K2M DAC. Connectivity includes gold-plated RCA inputs and outputs, USB ports, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi via supplied USB adapter for remote control through iOS and Android apps or web interface. The front panel has buttons for bypass, click removal, click monitor, a strength knob, and an LCD display. The SC-1 is designed to be used with virtually any phono stage and offers a transparent noise removal experience with minimal impact on soundstage and tonality. It
