About the LM12
The SAT LM-12 tonearm is a 12-inch pivoted tonearm designed by Marc Gomez of Swedish Analog Technology. It employs a straight carbon fiber arm tube with a detachable and rotatable headshell allowing precise azimuth adjustment. The arm uses gimbal bearings with tungsten-carbide and user-adjustable preloading, housed in an aluminum yoke for reduced mass and increased stiffness. The LM-12 is noted for its extremely low coloration and noise floor, delivering a faithful and unmechanical sound that allows cartridges to perform optimally. It excels in bass accuracy, imaging, tone, and spatial resolution, revealing complex instrumental textures with depth and dynamic precision. The arm geometry includes a mounting distance of 280mm, overhang of 17.6mm, and offset angle of 20.3 degrees. It shares a sonic identity with SAT's other models, characterized by high resolution, low distortion, and precise transient response. The LM-12 is
