About the 9" original SAT

The original SAT is a 9-inch dynamically balanced tonearm designed by Marc Gomez. It uses a tapered carbon-fiber arm tube and a precision pivot system with tungsten-carbide pivots running in sapphire V-jewels. The arm has a 212.2 mm pivot-to-spindle distance, 22.8 mm overhang, and 235 mm effective length. Its adjustable bearing system, counterweight and fine vertical-tracking-force adjustment, thread-and-pulley anti-skating mechanism, and pillar-mounted VTA adjustment provide extensive setup flexibility. The original arm was available with a fixed headshell and used silver-coated copper internal wiring with PTFE insulation. It was supplied with accessories including a protective case, tools, and an alignment gauge. The original SAT arm was later replaced by newer SAT models, including the CF1-09, CF1-09Ti, and other subsequent designs.
