The Sutherland Engineering Hubble phonostage is a high-end phono preamplifier that features two identical mono preamps, each fully contained on its own separate circuit board and compartment to maximize channel separation and minimize noise. It is powered by a pack of 16 alkaline D-cell batteries, providing approximately 1000 hours of actual power-on time, which offers excellent AC power line isolation and a very low noise floor. The design emphasizes natural, smooth, and articulate sound reproduction with superb timbral accuracy and detail. The Hubble's dimensions are 17" wide x 3.5" high x 16.25" deep, and it weighs 22 pounds. It is a battery-operated unit, which is a distinctive feature compared to other Sutherland models that use AC power supplies.
