About the Duo LPS

The Duo LPS is the Duo phono preamplifier configured with Sutherland's optional Linear Power Supply (LPS), a two-chassis, dual-mono MM/MC phono stage whose design concept combines elements of the cost-optimized 20/20 and the flagship PhonoBlock to deliver very low noise, wide dynamic range, and high reliability. Each channel occupies its own chassis with its own IEC power inlet and audio circuit, minimizing crosstalk and providing generous space for parts placement and thermal stability. The Duo platform uses premium components and advanced circuitry, with user-selectable gain and loading to accommodate a broad range of moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. In the LPS configuration, the standard switching supply is replaced by a linear power supply featuring a toroidal transformer, rectification, and heavy low-pass filtering, greatly reducing AC-borne noise and further isolating the audio circuitry for greater authority, control, and tonal purity.
