The Sunfire True Subwoofer is a highly compact and powerful subwoofer designed by Bob Carver, featuring an 11-inch cube sealed enclosure with dual 8-inch flat-diaphragm drivers mounted on opposite sides operating as a bipolar system. It incorporates a patented 2,700 watt Tracking Downconverter amplifier capable of delivering massive power in a small footprint. The drivers have an extraordinary excursion of approximately 2.5 inches, enabling significant air displacement and deep bass reproduction down to 16 Hz. The subwoofer includes continuously variable controls for phase (0 to 180 degrees), crossover frequency (30 to 100 Hz), and volume, as well as both speaker-level and line-level inputs. It features a soft clipping circuit to prevent damage, automatic signal sensing for turn-on and standby, and gold-plated connectors. The enclosure is finished in black anodize and black lacquer, weighs about 48-53 lbs, and measures roughly 11 x 11 x 11 inches. It is known for delivering output levels exceeding 116 dB peak SPL with very low distortion, making it suitable for high-end home theater and music applications.
