About the M5

The Studio Electric M5 is a three-way acoustic suspension loudspeaker designed and built in Holland, Michigan by Studio Electric. It features a unique vertical driver alignment with a 1-inch soft dome SB Acoustics tweeter positioned above a bespoke 6.5-inch co-polymer midrange driver with a 2-inch diameter voice coil in its own sealed chamber, and a 10-inch SB Acoustics gelcoated paper woofer. The design employs mirror-imaged pairs with drivers slightly offset from the center line. The M5 is known for its exceptional articulation, fast transient response, and accurate presentation, with particular strength in vocal clarity and imaging. It offers a realistic interpretation of upper frequencies with a subtle hint of restriction to extension. The speaker is suitable for various listening environments due to its compact size and is praised for being musical yet analytical, with good bass performance for an acoustic suspension design with a 6.5-inch driver.
