About the SR-009S

The SR-009S is STAX's flagship open-back, over-ear electrostatic earspeaker, evolved from the SR-009 and featuring the second-generation MLER2 (Multi-Layer Electrode) fixed electrode system. This multilayer, gold-plated stator uses a refined finishing and etching process to smooth the edges of the electrode openings, which reduces air resistance, improves sound permeability, and minimizes unwanted resonance, contributing to higher clarity and transparency. The SR-009S uses an ultra-thin super engineering plastic film diaphragm, whose extremely low mass yields excellent transient response across the entire audio spectrum. The design is rear open-air with a large circular/oval sound element, delivering an expansive, highly detailed soundstage typical of top-tier electrostatics. Ear pads are handcrafted, with the skin-contact surface made from real sheepskin leather and the surrounding portions from high-grade synthetic leather. The headband offers a multi-step size adjustment mechanism, and the included wide, low-capacitance parallel 6-core cable uses high-purity 6N OFC conductors with silver-plated soft copper.
