The Stax DAC-Talent is a solid-state digital-to-analog converter designed for audiophile use. The analog stage uses current feedback operational amplifiers, specifically the AD846, for high fidelity sound reproduction. The DAC supports AES/EBU 24-bit digital input to accommodate future digital formats. It features an 8x oversampling digital filter and is known for its musical and detailed sound quality. The unit has been modified by some users with upgraded op amps such as Burson for enhanced performance.
