The SPL Phonos RIAA Phono Preamplifier is a versatile and powerful device suitable for record players using MM or MC cartridges. It offers RIAA equalization, which is the standard for vinyl records since 1954, and is designed after Douglas Self's specifications. The preamplifier provides up to 51 dB gain for MM cartridges and up to 70 dB gain for MC cartridges, making it one of the most powerful in its class. It includes switchable gain settings, a subsonic filter to reduce rumble, and uses Styroflex condensers throughout the RIAA equalizer. The device features gold-plated RCA inputs and outputs, an audio ground connection, and a linear power supply with a toroidal transformer. It is manufactured in Germany and supports switchable mains voltage (230 V AC / 50 Hz or 115 V AC / 60 Hz).
