About the EL84M
The Sovtek EL84M, also known as 6BQ5WA or 7189, is a current production power tube for tube amplifiers, offering clear, balanced, detailed sound with higher transconductance, more power, and longer life than standard EL84. It features extended voltage tolerance up to 500V (closed tube), improved plate dissipation, and rugged construction equivalent to RCA 7189, ideal for hi-end audio and reliable in HiFi applications. Manufactured by Reflektor Corp in Russia under Sovtek brand, it is tested for transconductance (Gm), plate current (Ip), and gain, with strong mids, defined bass, and suitability for small combo amps.
