About the Paua

The Soundsmith Paua is a high-end moving iron phono cartridge featuring a fixed coil design for reduced moving mass. It uses a nude line contact stylus (0.100mm square) mounted on a telescoping aluminum alloy cantilever, optimized for precise tracking and minimal distortion. With an ultra-low output voltage of ≥0.4mV, it requires specialized phono preamplification (58-64dB gain) and operates best with ≥470Ω loading.
