About the Nova V

The SOTA Nova V is a high-end vacuum LP turntable in SOTA's Nova Series, featuring vacuum clamping via a very quiet external pump, a belt-drive system, and SOTA's classic sprung sub-chassis suspension for isolation from vibration. It uses a high-efficiency AC synchronous motor driven by a synthesized, regulated power supply for accurate 33⅓ and 45 RPM speed, and employs SOTA's inverted bearing assembly with a sapphire/zirconia thrust interface for low noise and long-term stability. The Nova V chassis is a mass-loaded, suspended design available in high-quality wood finishes, and the turntable is supplied without tonearm so it can be fitted with a wide range of 9–10 inch arms via interchangeable armboards. The vacuum pump resides in a separate enclosure connected to the plinth, and when engaged draws air from between the record and the platter surface to flatten warps and improve record/platter contact. The Nova V's speed control and motor system are compatible with SOTA's later Eclipse/Condor/RoadRunner upgrade path, allowing owners to retrofit advanced digital speed regulation and tachometer-based feedback if desired, though these are not standard on the V.
