The SOTA Cosmos IV Vacuum Turntable represents the ultimate expression of SOTA's critically acclaimed turntable engineering. It features a four-point spring-suspended sub-chassis made from 1-inch aircraft-grade aluminum, providing exceptional rigidity and mass damping. The turntable uses a belt drive system with a multi-layered, internally damped 15-pound vacuum platter that matches the mechanical impedance of vinyl records, ensuring the record, mat, and platter function as a single, non-resonant entity. The vacuum hold-down system uses a high-tech pneumatic sensing circuit for exact low-pressure vacuum clamping. The motor is a synthesized sine-wave 24-pole AC stepper motor with electronic speed control and speed change, mounted solidly to the plinth to isolate vibrations. The Cosmos IV includes a multi-layered armboard compatible with universal tonearms and a Reflex Clamp. It is designed to control dynamic stability, environmental isolation, and power line impurities, resulting in a very musical turntable with clean highs, musical mids, and clear lows. The turntable comes with a dust cover and offers custom wood options such as African Rosewood, Mahogany, Figured Maple, and Italian Ebony. It supports various tonearms and cartridges, including Origin Live, Hana, Grado, and Ortofon.
