The Sony DVP-NS999ES is a premium DVD/CD/SACD player from Sony's ES line, renowned for its exceptional digital audio and video performance. It features Sony's proprietary Precision Cinema Progressive system with pixel-by-pixel interlaced/progressive conversion and 3-2 pulldown processing, delivering flawless, fluid, and film-like DVD picture quality. The video section includes a 108MHz/14-bit video D/A converter, Super Sub Alias Filter, and Noise Shaped Video technology to reduce noise and distortion. On the audio side, it offers a 192kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter, supports 2-channel and multi-channel SACD playback with integrated bass management, and plays various disc formats including DVD-R/RW, DVD+RW, CD-R/RW, MP3, and Video CD. It does not support DVD-Audio. The player includes advanced video controls such as gamma adjustment, digital noise reduction, and block noise reduction, with memory to store custom settings for up to 300 discs. Connectivity includes multiple composite, S-video, component video outputs, 5.1-channel analog audio outputs, and digital coaxial and optical outputs.
