The Sony CDP-CX400 is a high-capacity CD changer designed for music enthusiasts with extensive collections. It features internal storage for 400 discs with the ability to expand up to 800 discs when connected to a compatible Sony changer. The unit includes advanced playback modes such as shuffle, repeat, and custom programming, along with a dual fluorescent display with 13-character alphanumeric readout. Notable features include disc naming (up to 13 characters), group filing for organization, a jog dial navigation system, and support for CD Text. The player offers both analog RCA and digital optical outputs, making it compatible with various audio systems. It includes a wireless remote control with direct disc and track access, and supports advanced features like No-Delay Play and X-Fade crossfading between discs. The unit was manufactured in 2000-2001 and is no longer in production.
