The Sonus Faber Grand Piano Domus is a premium 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed with a lute-shaped cabinet and decoupled side panels to control resonance. It features a 1-inch ring radiator tweeter, a 6-inch paper-coated cone midrange driver, and dual 7-inch paper-coated cone woofers, all magnetically shielded and custom designed for compression-free performance. The crossover points are set at 400Hz and 3.6kHz with an initial first order, distributed multi-slope design optimized for phase and time coherence. It delivers a frequency response from 30Hz to 20kHz, a sensitivity of 90dB SPL (2.83V/1m), and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Power handling ranges from 30 to 200 watts without clipping. The speaker weighs approximately 57 pounds each and measures 41.7 inches high, 8.25 inches wide, and 12.25 inches deep. The finish options include a combination of black leather and teak or black piano lacquer. This model is noted for its smooth, extended top end, well-balanced midrange, and dynamic bass performance, making it a substantial upgrade over previous models in the Domus line.
