The Sonus Faber Elipsa Red Violin is designed to bring the technological innovations and musical performance of the Homage collection, especially the Stradivari model, to a wider audience. It features an elliptical cabinet crafted from 20 hand-selected layers of solid maple wood, optimized for resonance control and vibration rejection. The speaker is a 3-way floorstanding vented box design with a 10-inch aluminum/magnesium alloy woofer, a 6-inch midrange driver with a wood fiber cone developed in collaboration with Scandinavian partners, and a 1.3-inch ring radiator tweeter with a neodymium magnet and a natural wood acoustic labyrinth rear chamber for anti-resonance. The crossover is a non-resonant second order design with crossover points at 250 Hz and 2.3 kHz, tuned for natural sound without listener fatigue. It delivers a frequency response from 35 Hz to 30 kHz, sensitivity of 91 dB SPL, nominal impedance of 4 ohms, and power handling from 50 to 300 watts without clipping. The cabinet dimensions are approximately 21.75 x 49 x 18 inches (550 x 1250 x 420 mm), and the pair weighs about 214 lbs (97 kg) net.
