About the SG3
The Sonographe SG-3 turntable features innovative use of new materials to minimize mechanical noise intrusion, preserving the purity of recorded music. It is designed to be easy to set up and use, offering exceptional musical accuracy. The SG-3 uses a three-point hung suspension system and manual speed adjustment for 33.33 and 45 rpm. It originally came with a Sumiko LMT OEM tonearm, with some models supplied with a Sumiko Premier MMT tonearm. The turntable incorporates extensive acrylic components for resonance control, including the platter, drive platter, and subchassis, which is adjustable from above. It was first built around 1982, later acquired by Conrad-Johnson, who produced it for a few years. The SG-3 is known for its low wow and flutter and rumble, contributing to its high fidelity sound reproduction.
