The Snell Type D is a three-way floorstanding passive loudspeaker using an 8" woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure, a 5" midrange, a 1" front titanium-dome tweeter, and a rear-firing 1" soft-dome supertweeter to improve room power response and spaciousness. It was designed to deliver very flat frequency response with a rated bandwidth of 36 Hz to 20 kHz within a tight +/-1.75 dB window (half-space anechoic), making it notably neutral and accurate for its class.
