The SMSL PS200 PRO is a compact, fixed-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for connecting USB, optical, or coaxial digital sources to an analog stereo system. It uses an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC and XMOS XU316 USB interface, with four OPA1612A dual operational amplifiers in the analog output stage. USB audio supports PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512, while optical and coaxial inputs support PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DoP64. MQA and MQA-CD decoding are supported. UAC1/UAC2 switching allows compatibility with devices such as the Sony PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The unit is powered through USB-C; USB input can provide both data and power, while optical or coaxial operation requires a 5 V USB-C power source. It has no headphone amplifier, volume control, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or network-streaming functionality.
