The SME Model 8 is a premium manual belt-drive turntable that succeeds the Model 6, offering enhanced engineering with a 40% mass increase over its predecessor for exceptional stability, resonance control, and audio fidelity. It features a CNC-machined high-density polymer resin plinth for superb vibration absorption, a thicker platter for optimal tracking accuracy, precision main bearing and drive pulleys matching SME's high-end standards, and an advanced electronic speed control unit derived from Model 60 technology with fine pitch adjustment. Equipped with the renowned SME 309 magnesium tonearm and removable headshell for easy cartridge changes, internal Crystal Cable wiring, gold-plated WBT RCA sockets, refined mounting boards, adjustable isolation feet, and redesigned phono/low voltage inputs.
