The SME Model 20 (Mk2) is a finely crafted precision turntable with high-density construction, extensional damping, and a suspended suspension system that minimizes vibrations from various sources including air, loudspeakers, and mechanical parts. It incorporates a highly advanced DSP-based drive system generating pure sine waves for precise speed control at 33.33 and 45 rpm with ±0.01% fine adjustments. The turntable features a close-tolerance precision bearing, fluid damping, and is equipped with the flagship SME Series V tonearm (9-inch or 12-inch options) featuring Crystal Cable internal wiring. Main and sub-chassis are 16mm thick, providing high mass (26kg for turntable) and stiffness. Independent Speed Control Unit and Power Unit ensure clean operation. Available with RCA or XLR connectors and LEMO low-power cables. Inspired by the Model 30, it delivers uncolored performance with superb resolution.[1][4][6][11][13]
