About the 12 Diamond

The SME Model 12 Diamond Series is a limited-edition turntable machine-finished with hand-polished detailing and black chrome accents, developed from the award-winning Synergy model to commemorate SME's Diamond Anniversary. It features a high-mass chassis CNC machined from premium aluminum billet with excellent resonance absorption and a small footprint. The sub-chassis is suspended on an advanced isolation system with four adjustable de-coupled feet. It includes a close-tolerance precision bearing with a 19mm high chrome tool steel spindle and sintered bronze bearings. The 4.6kg machined aluminum platter has an Iso-Damp top surface, diamond-turned for optimal vinyl interface, paired with a reflex record clamp. Powered by a custom bi-phase AC synchronous motor with outboard speed control unit (SCU) offering 33.33, 45 rpm speeds (some models 78 rpm) and fine pitch adjustment of +/-0.01%. Equipped with SME Model 309 9-inch precision magnesium tonearm (tungsten-alloy balance weight, constrained layer damping, detachable headshell), wired with mono-crystal silver Crystal Cable. Available in black, dark gray, or dark blue finishes. Tonearm upgradable to Series V.
