About the Series IV.VI
The SME Series IV.Vi is a Sumiko-specified version of SME’s Series V tonearm. It retains the Series V’s nondetachable headshell, high-precision ABEC 7 gimbal bearings, one-piece pressure-die-cast magnesium arm tube, damping trough, and rigid mounting system. Its principal differences from the standard Series V are Magnan Type Vi internal copper wiring and static rather than dynamic tracking-force adjustment. The arm provides adjustment of tracking force, VTA/arm height, and bias, while azimuth is fixed. It is a distinct vintage Sumiko variant and should not be confused with SME’s later Series Vi tonearm.
