About the Cantus

Simply Black Cantus is a tangential tracker tonearm where the pickup follows the record groove in the same way the disc is engraved, eliminating angular error. It is a development of Bo Hansson's Opus 3 Cantus tonearm. The arm features a swivel base, a solid pickup mount, a new carriage with wheels, and custom tonearm cables. It uses hybrid bearings with ceramic balls for reduced friction and improved rotation. The tonearm includes a wagon wheel precisely lathed to fit the glass tube dimensions, minimizing resonance through a 'virtual' pivot point and dual arm tubes. The design facilitates easier placement of the stylus on the LP and offers precise VTA adjustment via a vertically adjustable spindle. The arm is highly regarded for its mechanical precision and audiophile sound quality, reviewed positively in Swedish Hifi & Musik magazine.
