About the CDP-1
The MOON CD-1 is a discontinued CD player from Canadian manufacturer Simaudio. It uses a Burr-Brown PCM1793 24-bit/192 kHz DAC with 8x oversampling and internal upsampling to 24-bit/352.8 kHz. Features include a Simaudio-designed CD transport mechanism, separate grounding paths for the analog and digital circuitry, a bi-directional RS-232 control port, an IR input for external control, and a bright red front-panel display. Its power supply incorporates a 25 VA toroidal transformer and 13,200 µF of filtering capacitance. The CD-1 measures approximately 428.6 × 88.9 × 325.9 mm (W × H × D) and weighs about 6.25 kg.
