About the 260D

The Simaudio MOON 260D is a high-end CD transport, also available with an optional factory-installed or retrofittable 32-bit asynchronous DAC module. It uses Simaudio’s proprietary M-ProDrive/M-Quattro transport architecture with a gel-based four-point floating suspension intended to reduce vibration. In transport-only form, it provides S/PDIF and AES/EBU digital outputs. With the optional DAC installed, it adds USB, optical TosLink, and two coaxial S/PDIF inputs, plus balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs. The DAC version supports PCM signals up to 24-bit/192 kHz and uses extensive power-supply regulation. The model is still listed in Simaudio’s product documentation, so it should not be classified as definitively discontinued; however, availability may vary by region and the product has appeared under both MOON and MOON Nēo branding.
