The MOON Andromeda Reference CD Player by Simaudio is a top-loading, dual-chassis design that separates the digital and analog power supplies for optimal performance. It features internal 24-bit/705.6kHz upsampling using a BurrBrown DF1704 digital filter with 16X oversampling and four precision-matched BurrBrown PCM1704U-K 24-bit DACs in a fully balanced configuration. The player uses a Philips CD-Pro 2 M transport mechanism mounted on a gel-based suspension for stability and reliability. It offers balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog outputs, digital inputs (S/PDIF BNC), and digital outputs (S/PDIF BNC and AES/EBU XLR). The design includes a capacitor-free signal path with a DC servo circuit and proprietary analog filter, military-grade four-layer PCB for improved signal integrity, and an extremely rigid chassis to minimize vibration effects. The unit comes with an all-aluminum full-function remote control and supports RS-232 bidirectional communication for integration. Dimensions are approximately 18.75" W x 5.5" H x 16.5" D for the player and 18.75" W x 4" H x 16.5" D for the power supply. It weighs about 79 lbs (36 kg) and consumes 25 watts at idle.
