About the Scuttle Mk3
The Silent Running Audio Scuttle Mk3 (also referred to as Scuttle³ or Scuttle3) is a premium audio equipment rack engineered to provide superior vibration isolation and support for high-end audio components. It is constructed using a combination of hard and soft woods, layered with vibration-killing viscoelastic adhesives, and finished with a black phenolic composite coating for added strength and resonance control. The frame is designed to have no inherent Q (resonance), ensuring that it does not impart its own sonic signature to the equipment it supports. The rack features SRA’s Mass Load Support System (MLSS) crossbeams, which are made from composite or alloy materials and are engineered to flex with vibrations, dissipating energy and preventing resonance from reaching the components. The Scuttle Mk3 is available in various configurations, with the most common being a three-tier, double-wide model (36"H x 47.5"W x 22"D) or a standard three-tier model (36"H x 30"W x 22"D). Two- and four-tier units are also available. The rack is built to order and ships in a range of sizes to accommodate different system needs. Each Scuttle Mk3 comes with a lifetime warranty.
