The Shahinian Acoustics Diapason 2 is the flagship loudspeaker in the Shahinian range, embodying over 25 years of development in a modular design. It features a five-way system with 18 drivers, including 5 1/4" miniwoofers, 4 midrange drivers, 2 titanium dome high midrange drivers, 2 low tweeters, and 6 W-shaped titanium dome super tweeters. The upper module is an asymmetric prism constructed from 13-ply Finland Birch, designed to fit precisely atop the Double Eagle subwoofer bass cabinet. The electrical crossover uses a four-stage branch circuit of first and third order filters for phase-correct seamless transitions from about 125 Hz to 22,000 Hz. The system is capable of handling up to 300W max power and has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms with a sensitivity of 86 dB. The design emphasizes poly-directional sound radiation to mimic natural acoustic waveforms, producing a spherical sound pattern rather than a traditional sweet spot. The cabinet features no parallel internal surfaces to reduce standing waves and is available in oak, walnut, or cherry finishes. Dimensions are approximately 23" x 15" x 32". The Diapason 2 is praised for its ability to present music with correct tonal and timbral quality, offering an effortlessly unforced and highly musical performance.
