The Schiit Audio Vidar 2F is a high-performance Class A/B power amplifier designed with a fully discrete, current feedback topology using all 2SC/2SA BJTs and no capacitors in the signal path. It delivers 100 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and doubles to 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with a mono bridged mode output of 400 watts into 8 ohms. The amplifier features a linear power supply with a 600VA transformer and dual mono rails, plus discrete regulated supplies for input, voltage gain, driver stages, and microprocessor management. It includes microprocessor-controlled monitoring and management with relay shutdown for overcurrent, thermal, and other faults, plus Forkbeard reporting for real-time power output, temperature, and overcurrent status. The Vidar 2F runs moderately warm at typical volumes and cold in standby, with a compact size of 9" x 13" x 3.875" and a weight of 22 lbs. It has a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz ±0.03dB, THD less than 0.004% at 100W into 8 ohms, and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 123dB A-weighted. Inputs include L/R RCA jacks for stereo and a single XLR for mono input. The amplifier is designed without Class D modules, switching power supplies, or fans, emphasizing traditional Class A/B design and sound quality.
