About the Lyr 3

The Schiit Audio Lyr 3 is a single-ended hybrid tube headphone amplifier and preamp that combines a single dual-triode 6SN7-type tube with a fully discrete solid-state output stage. It uses Schiit's Coherence hybrid topology and Continuity constant-transconductance output stage to deliver high power with low distortion and consistent performance across different loads. The Lyr 3 outputs up to 6W RMS into 32 ohms from its 1/4" single-ended headphone jack, so it does not require balanced connections to achieve full power. It provides two gain settings to accommodate a wide range of headphones, from sensitive in-ears to difficult planar magnetics. Its modular architecture allows the installation of optional input modules such as Schiit DAC cards (including Multibit and AK4490-based options) or a phono preamp, enabling use as a compact all-in-one desktop control center. The stock configuration uses a single 6SN7-family tube, and the design supports tube rolling with compatible 6SN7-type tubes.
