The Schiit Audio Eitr is a standalone USB to S/PDIF converter that uses Schiit's unique Gen 5 USB input technology, the highest-performance USB input available today. It converts USB audio signals to coaxial S/PDIF output, allowing connection to any DAC with a coaxial digital input. The Eitr provides complete electrostatic and electromagnetic isolation via transformers, self-powering all critical low-noise and reclocking sections, and uses separate precision clock sources for 44.1kHz and 48kHz multiples. This results in significantly improved sound quality with lower noise floor, reduced jitter, and better clarity compared to direct USB inputs on many DACs. It supports bit depths and sample rates up to 24-bit/192kHz. The device includes a built-in linear low-noise power supply and requires the included 6VAC wall-wart power adapter.
