About the Premier II
The Scheu Analog Premier MK II is a mid-range turntable from Berlin-based manufacturer Scheu Analog, designed and developed by Thomas Scheu over 20 years of DIY audio experience. The turntable won The Absolute Sound's Golden Ear Award in 2001. It features a minimalist design philosophy with a mass-loaded acrylic plinth (available in black or transparent) filled with lead shot for stability, paired with an inverted steel bearing pre-tuned and hardened for exceptional performance. The turntable uses a nylon string drive system rather than a rubber belt, offering reduced resonance. The Premier MK II can be configured with either a 9-inch or 12-inch tonearm base and is available with two platter options. The turntable is known for its clean, simple styling and excellent build quality, representing a balance between the entry-level Cello and Diamond models below it and the flagship Das Laufwerk models above it in Scheu's lineup.
