About the MC Scheu SL

The MC Scheu SL cartridge is a hand-made, individually measured and audio-tested moving coil (MC) cartridge based on the Benz Micro ACE S design. It features a Namiki micro-ridge diamond stylus tip, which allows for precise groove tracing and excellent detail retrieval. The cartridge has a low output of approximately 0.4 mV at a speed of 3.54 cm/s, making it suitable for MC phono stages or step-up transformers. It weighs about 16.4 grams and has a frequency response range from 10 Hz to 50 kHz with ±1 dB accuracy. The channel separation is better than 35 dB at 1 kHz, and channel balance is better than 0.5 dB. Recommended tracking force is between 1.8 and 2.2 grams, with an optimum of 1.8 to 2.0 grams. The cartridge is designed for medium to high tonearm mass and requires a loading impedance between 500 and 47,000 ohms. It is praised for its energetic yet relaxed sound signature and is considered a fine complement to high-end analog front ends.
