About the Das Laufwerk II
The Das Laufwerk II is Scheu Analog's top-of-the-line turntable, surpassing their previous flagship model, the Premier. Weighing approximately 38 kg, it features a unique design that omits the traditional lead shot chamber, instead using a combination of multi-ply acrylic, steel, and bronze to achieve adaptive resonance suppression and damping. The turntable includes an 80 mm thick acrylic platter weighing 7.5 kg, an electronically regulated DC motor with fine speed adjustment for 33 and 45 rpm, and a string drive system. It supports up to three tonearm bases made from materials such as acrylic, brass, aluminium, or bronze. Height-adjustable steel feet are available in spike or flat formats. The turntable is available in polished black acrylic, satin-finish colourless acrylic, and an exclusive slate shell version. Sonically, it delivers dynamic, unfussy reproduction with powerful, contoured bass, natural fundamental sound, faithful soundstage width and depth, and clear, long-ringing treble without overemphasis. It is designed for connoisseurs and ambitious listeners seeking high fidelity and detailed musical reproduction.
