About the TU-919
The Sansui TU-919 is a top-of-the-line stereo FM/AM tuner featuring a patented digitally quartz-locked tuning system that eliminates tuning drift, ensuring precise and stable reception. Manufactured in Japan from 1978 to 1980, it offers excellent sensitivity and selectivity with a frequency response of 30 Hz to 15 kHz. The tuner includes a Darlington-connected differential IC in the IF stage, selectable bandwidth circuitry, and uses multiple Murata filters for wide and narrow IF bandwidth modes. It supports FM and MW bands with an analog tuning scale and provides an output voltage adjustable from 0 to 1 V. The TU-919 is highly regarded for its sound quality, especially its AM section which features a wide-narrow filter to reduce splatter noise. It weighs 9.8 kg and measures 430 x 168 x 419 mm (482 mm with rack handles).
