About the TU717
The Sansui TU-717 is a vintage AM/FM stereo tuner manufactured in Japan from 1977 to 1979. It features an analogue tuning scale with FM tuning range from 87.5 to 108 MHz and MW range from 530 to 1600 kHz. The tuner offers a sensitive front end and a dual bandwidth IF section with a selector switch for either lowest distortion or highest selectivity, making it suitable for sophisticated amplifier setups. It has a signal-to-noise ratio of 78 dB (FM) and 52 dB (MW), distortion levels of 0.25% (FM) and 0.35% (MW), and a frequency response of 30 Hz to 15 kHz. The output voltage is adjustable up to 1 V with a recommended output of 0.4 V. The tuner weighs 9.2 kg and measures approximately 402 x 430 x 168 mm. It does not include a remote control and consumes about 20-22 W of power. The TU-717 is highly regarded for its sound quality and classic design, often paired with the Sansui AU-717 amplifier.
