The Sansui A-2000 is a solid-state AM/FM stereo receiver produced in Japan from 1969 to 1971. It delivers 35 watts per channel into 8 ohms with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, providing a warm, clean, and colored sound characteristic of Sansui's hallmark audio quality. The unit features a silver front with walnut housing, no remote control, and weighs 12 kg. It includes multiple inputs such as two phono MM inputs, tape head, tape play, auxiliary, and antenna connections, as well as outputs for tape recording, headphones, and two pairs of loudspeakers. Notably, it has dedicated preamp outputs and main inputs, allowing flexible use as a preamp or integrated amplifier. The receiver has a damping factor of about 24 and a total harmonic distortion around 0.8%. It is well-regarded for its build quality, sound warmth, and versatility, though it may require maintenance such as bulb replacement and pot cleaning due to its age. Dimensions are approximately 440 x 125 x 350 mm. The original price was about 1,598 DM. The A-2000 is considered a highly underrated and undervalued classic receiver with a strong following among vintage audio enthusiasts.
