About the 2HP-D
The SAE 2HP-D amplifier features a powerful design delivering 600 watts into 8-ohm speakers, 1200 watts into 4-ohm, and 1200 watts into 2-ohm speakers with less than 0.01% total harmonic distortion across 20Hz-20kHz. It is a fully balanced Class A/B dual mono amplifier with each channel powered by a massive custom-wound toroidal transformer. The amplifier uses a bridge mode topology with two amplifiers per channel, current feedback, dual DC servos for low-frequency response, and impeccable board layout for electrical and physical balance. The chassis is solid metal with an understated industrial design, highlighted by a nearly 9-inch wide color LCD that displays virtual VU meters and frequency spectrum in real time. Connectivity includes balanced XLR inputs, four speaker binding posts for bi-wiring, and Speakon loudspeaker outputs. The amplifier is noted for thunderous power, speed, and noise-free operation, making it suitable for high-end audio setups.
