The Rotel RB-1582 MkII is Rotel's largest stereo power amplifier, providing 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20kHz, <0.03% THD) and 325 watts into 4 ohms, featuring a Class AB design with independent left/right power rectification stages akin to a monoblock. It employs an extremely large custom toroidal transformer and 60,000µF of high-quality British-made slit-foil capacitors for stable power delivery and rapid charge/discharge during dynamic passages. The discrete output stage uses 10 high-current bipolar transistors per channel, ensuring low output impedance and excellent bass control. Inputs include stereo balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, with two pairs of 5-way binding posts for bi-wiring or dual speakers. Additional features include switchable 12V trigger in/out, detachable IEC power cord, rack-mount ears, thermal/over-current protection, and a damping factor of 800. Known for its warm, musical sound with tight bass, clear highs, and effortless drive for large HiFi systems, it remains in production with a 5-year warranty.
