About the RC-1550

The Rotel RC-1550 is a classic analog stereo preamplifier designed to deliver high-quality two-channel sound with flexible connectivity. Its power supply uses a custom-made toroidal transformer and select-grade BHC slit-foil capacitors for stable, low-noise operation. The RC-1550 provides six line-level inputs plus a dedicated moving-magnet phono input for turntables, accommodating sources such as CD players, tuners, DACs, and media players. It includes bass and treble tone controls with a bypass/contour function for easy, repeatable timbre adjustments, two sets of main outputs for driving multiple power amplifiers or a subwoofer, a 12-volt trigger output for system integration, and a Rotel system remote that can also control compatible Rotel CD, tuner, or DVD components. Front-panel conveniences include a media player mini-jack input and headphone output, making the RC-1550 a versatile hub for stereo separates systems.
