About the Nucleus+ (v2)
The Roon Nucleus+ (v2) is a purpose-built music server optimized for running Roon's music management and streaming software. It features an Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB solid-state drive for the operating system and Roon software. It supports music libraries exceeding 12,000 albums (over 120,000 tracks) and can stream to more than five simultaneous zones, making it suitable for demanding multi-room audio setups. The device offers extensive DSP capabilities, including upsampling, room correction, and convolution, with full DSP function availability. It includes multiple connection options: 2 USB 3.0 ports for external drives or DACs, 2 HDMI outputs for stereo and multi-channel audio, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a Thunderbolt 3 port (currently unused). The internal storage bay supports 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD drives up to 15mm in height (drive not included). The chassis is a fanless, passively cooled aluminum enclosure with a sleek off-black satin finish, designed for silent operation and audiophile environments. The Nucleus+ runs Roon OS, a custom operating system tailored for music streaming and library management, and is controlled via Roon apps on various platforms. It supports integration with home automation systems like Crestron and Control4. The device weighs approximately 2.5kg and measures 212mm (W) x 156mm (D) x 74mm (H). It comes with a 2-year warranty and is designed to provide a seamless, high-quality music experience with minimal setup and maintenance.
