About the Triton

The Rogue Audio Triton is a solid-state MM/MC phono preamplifier designed and hand-built in the USA. It uses a three-stage amplification topology, a fully regulated multistage power supply, precise RIAA equalization, and extensive user-selectable cartridge loading. Settings are accessed beneath a removable top hatch and support a wide range of moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges. The original Triton should not be confused with the later Triton II, which uses a revised circuit, different gain and loading options, and adds a selectable rumble filter and mono switch. Rogue Audio’s current documentation lists the Triton II rather than the original Triton, indicating that the original model has been superseded; however, an explicit manufacturer statement that the original Triton is permanently discontinued was not found.
