About the Taurus

The Rockport Technologies Taurus is a high-end, three-way center-channel loudspeaker designed to integrate with Rockport stereo loudspeakers in premium home-theater systems. It uses Rockport’s constrained-layer-damped composite enclosure and incorporates two custom 7-inch midbass drivers, a 6-inch carbon-fiber sandwich-composite midrange driver, and a waveguide-mounted 1-inch beryllium-dome tweeter. It can be supplied with either a tall stand for freestanding placement or a low plinth for cabinet installation. The Taurus is designed for placement against a wall and provides rake-angle adjustment to optimize vertical dispersion for different installation and listening heights. Published specifications include a 4-ohm nominal impedance, 89 dB sensitivity, and a 45 Hz–30 kHz frequency response at -3 dB.
