About the Avior

The Rockport Technologies Avior is a large, three-way, passive floorstanding loudspeaker designed and built in the United States. It combines two 9-inch carbon-fiber sandwich-composite woofers, a 6-inch carbon-fiber sandwich-composite midrange driver, and a 1-inch beryllium-dome tweeter. Its heavily damped, curved enclosure and bass-reflex loading are intended to provide extended low-frequency performance, high dynamic capability, and low cabinet coloration. The original Avior has subsequently been superseded by the Avior II, which introduced a redesigned waveguide-mounted tweeter and other refinements.
