About the Lyra
The Rockport Technologies Lyra loudspeaker is the culmination of three decades of loudspeaker design, embodying the highest level of craftsmanship and technical innovation. It is a three-and-a-half-way, five-driver design with two 10-inch carbon fiber sandwich composite woofers, two 6-inch midrange drivers, and a waveguide-mounted 1-inch beryllium dome tweeter. The enclosure is uniquely constructed using a patented DAMSTIF™ monocoque design with two large cast aluminum shells bonded together and filled with urethane, resulting in the quietest and most rigid loudspeaker enclosure in production. This design eliminates enclosure-induced noise and provides a very low noise floor, allowing the Lyra to deliver exceptional transient fidelity, dynamic shading, and harmonic integrity. The crossover is hand-tuned by Rockport's founder Andy Payor for optimal phase and frequency response. The Lyra offers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 30 kHz (-3 dB), a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, and a sensitivity of 90 dB SPL/2.83 V, requiring a minimum amplifier power of 30 watts. It weighs 560 lbs each and measures 53.5" high, 14.1" wide, and 26.5" deep. The Lyra is designed to fit into real-world rooms with a smaller footprint than previous flagship models while delivering authoritative bass and refined musical expression.
