The Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X5 is an ultra-efficient 5-channel amplifier capable of powering a full car audio system without excessive drain on the vehicle's charging system. It delivers 75 watts RMS to each of the four main channels and 150 watts RMS to the subwoofer channel at 4 ohms, with increased power at lower impedances (125 watts x 4 + 300 watts x 1 at 2 ohms, and up to 500 watts to the subwoofer at 1 ohm). The amplifier combines Class AB output devices for the main channels with Class BD switching topology for the subwoofer channel, balancing sound quality and efficiency. It features Rockford Fosgate's C.L.E.A.N. Set-Up distortion detection circuit for easy tuning, a cast aluminum heatsink for improved thermal management, and multiple protection circuits including short circuit and over current protection. The amp includes a 12 dB/octave Butterworth crossover, onboard Punch EQ with up to +18 dB boost at 45 Hz, and supports high-level inputs with auto turn-on. It is designed with marine-grade epoxy coating and stainless steel hardware for durability. The amplifier measures approximately 15-1/8 inches wide, 2-7/16 inches high, and 8-13/16 inches deep, and comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty, extendable to 2 years with authorized installation.
